Lake County Schools is partnering with local businesses and organizations to host a College and Career Expo that aims to help high school juniors and seniors explore post-graduation opportunities close to home.
The goal is to empower Lake County youth to find careers locally and to build a dynamic workforce in Lake County.
The event is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2026, at the Clermont Arts and Recreation Center in Clermont. Students will be transported by bus in shifts. Each group will receive a brief orientation before circulating through the center to meet with representatives and to participate in interviews and resume workshops.
The event is free, and all participants will be entered into a raffle for prizes. Student contact information will be retained to allow businesses to continue conversations with them and their families.
Students can sign up through their school guidance office department. The registration deadline is November 13, 2026, or when the event is at capacity.
“This expo will help students explore a diverse range of educational institutions, career paths, and industries,” said Marta C. Ramirez, director of College and Career Readiness. “It will give students a unique opportunity to start building a network that could open doors to mentorship, internships, and potential job opportunities in the future. As a result of this experience, we expect students to be inspired to set ambitious goals and motivated to work towards them, knowing that there are many different pathways to success available to them.”
