Florida Future Educators of America
Spring Creek Charter school is the first Middle School in Lake County, FL to have a Florida Future Educators of America (FFEA) Chapter. Seventh and Eighth grade students were selected who demonstrated leadership qualities and have a passion for the profession of teaching. Kelly Ferrie, the school advisor, is looking forward to many opportunities this group of young men and women will give back to the community, as well as the mentorship experience they will have under direct supervision of teacher leaders. Using the Educators Rising curriculum, students will explore seven standards including: understanding the profession, learning about students, building content knowledge, engaging in responsive planning, implementing instruction, using data to make decisions, and engaging in reflective practice. This elective course will be a great opportunity to recruit passionate and young people into the education field!
